We can run the boat in all seasons, all year (summer, autumn, winter and spring) as long as there is no ice, but in periods with few tours the boat is kept ashore.
We recommend that you dress for the season. Everyone gets a thermal survival suit before departure, and you will not be cold if you follow this advice. Your body works hard on our tours, so you stay warm even without very thick clothes. Ski goggles are used when needed (especially in rain).
Here are our tips for what to wear when you arrive:
Summer
- A T-shirt and shorts are fine under the survival suit.
- Trainers with a good sole (that can handle a little spray).
Spring and autumn
- Wear trousers and a sweater under the thermal suit.
- Rubber boots with a good sole (not slippery) and thick socks are often good in this slightly rough season.
Winter
- Wear wool underwear under your trousers and sweater.
- A hat or balaclava.
- Mittens.
- Rubber boots or boots with a good sole (not slippery, must handle spray) and thick socks are often good in this slightly rough season.
In rain, or with a lot of wind and sea
- Wear rubber boots with a good sole (not slippery).
How much weather before the tour is changed or cancelled
If it blows a constant near gale (15 m/s), we may have to change the route. If it is not possible to change the route, the tour is cancelled.
If there are very large waves we may have to change the route. If it is not possible to change the route, the tour is cancelled.
