This is our favourite RIB tour, giving you an express experience in Færder National Park. We tell you about what we see along the way. Of course we go ashore at Færder lighthouse and tell you about it. We also pass many other small lighthouses and well-known places in the national park.
The tour goes one way or the other depending on wind and waves. We plan it so that we mostly run with the sea when we are offshore, to make it more comfortable for our passengers. In particularly rough weather we may have to change or shorten the tour to keep to the schedule.
The route
We start at Vallø, then pass the main entrance to Tønsberg at Jarlsø, continue past Fjærholmen, Hvaløy and Bjerrkøy, and on past Kjølholmen, Lindholmen, Nordre Årøy and Søndre Årøy before we point the bow towards Mågerø on Tjøme and show you where the king has his cabin. We continue past Burø and Mostein, Froungen and Ildverket, Bustein and Vasskalven, before we drive slowly through Sandøsund and tell you a little about Krukehavn (a meal and guided visit are possible for an extra charge). Then we can speed up and head offshore between Kløvningen and Lakksskjær light, before we go directly to Færder lighthouse. At Færder lighthouse there is a landing and guiding, and we often see seals here. We continue towards Store Færder and tell stories from there, then set course straight out towards Hollenderbåen lighthouse on the last long open-sea stretch. We then point the bow at Fulehuk lighthouse (a guided visit is possible for an extra charge), pass Skarvesetet, and move close and slowly past Østre Bolæren (meal and guided visit possible for an extra charge), Kongstenssund, Mellem Bolæren, Jensesund and Vestre Bolæren (meal and guided visit possible for an extra charge), before we are back in the harbour.
This is a short tour of about 2 hours (weather permitting) and about 40 nautical miles. We take time for one stop of about 30 minutes at Færder lighthouse, and we also drive slowly and calmly in many sections so you can enjoy the magnificent archipelago of Vestfold.
