How many people can join a tour?
The boat has room for 12 passengers, each on their own jockey seat. If you need room for more, we can bring in more boats from partners.
How much does a RIB tour cost?
The price covers the whole boat, with room for 12, and is agreed on request. Our fixed tours are Færder National Park (about 2 hours), Nøtterøy and Tjøme around with Færder National Park (about 3 hours) and all coastal lighthouses in Vestfold (about 6 hours). For an extra charge you can add longer guiding, a national park guide, simple refreshments ashore, a photographer on board and an interactive game about Færder National Park.
Who can take part?
A RIB tour suits all ages. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult for each child. Pregnant women should not take part in a RIB tour. Tell us in advance if you have back problems, brittle bones or other physical injuries, or could not jump down from a one-metre-high table without fear of hurting yourself. We then adapt the tour and make it calmer than normal, typically more inshore and at lower speed. Nobody may be visibly intoxicated, and alcohol is not allowed on board.
What should I wear?
Everyone gets a thermal survival suit before departure. Dress for the season underneath. Your body works hard on the tour, so you stay warm even without very thick clothes. When needed, especially in rain, we use ski goggles.
Do you run tours all year?
Yes, we run all year as long as there is no ice. In periods with few tours the boat is kept ashore.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We plan the tour according to conditions and may have to run a shorter or different tour because of weather and wind. We always listen to the passenger who is least comfortable in the boat, so that everyone has a good experience.
Are the tours safe?
The boat and equipment meet the requirements of the Norwegian Maritime Authority’s regulation on operating vessels carrying 12 or fewer passengers. The boat with passengers is covered by passenger liability insurance for up to NOK 30 million per total loss event. Equipment you bring along is not covered by the insurance.
Which boat do you use?
We use a Humber 850 Pro Ocean, 28 feet, with two 300 hp Suzuki engines, 12 jockey seats for passengers, dual Garmin chartplotter, radar and VHF.
Where do the tours go?
We run in the outer Oslofjord, Færder National Park and along the Vestfold coast, with landings at lighthouses such as Færder, Fulehuk, Svenner and Tvistein. We also run longer expeditions, for example to Store Torungen lighthouse near Arendal, Koster and Väderöarna.
How do I pay, and where can you moor?
The tour must be paid before departure, either by invoice or by card terminal on arrival. We only moor at jetties with at least 1.5 metres of depth at lowest low water, and the jetty must not have sharp or pointed edges.
