Mellem Bolæren

An island and meeting point in Færder National Park.

There are several Bronze Age burial cairns on the island, and the remains of a camp for Russian prisoners of war. The island has many fine beaches and sheltered harbours for small boats. A marked coastal trail runs across the island between Jensesundet and Kongshavnsundet.

Mellem-Bolærens Venner work on the island every Tuesday from spring to autumn. They also offer guiding for closed groups (companies, associations and the like). A fee is charged for guiding, and it goes in full to maintenance of buildings and jetties.

The smallholding Rønningen is rented out all summer as a coastal-trail (Kystled) cabin with 8 beds.

The shoreline cottage Nordre Jensesund and the beautiful Grevestuen can also be rented for meetings, conferences, seminars and the like. These places have neither a kitchen nor overnight accommodation, so they are only rented out for daytime use.
